A burger and a beer may have helped Adele cope with a glitchy Grammys performance Monday night (February 15), but after awaking the next day, there was no consoling her — she was a wreck.

In a segment from an Ellen Show interview airing later today (February 18) featured above, the 25 singer reiterates that the broadcast's audio issues were the result of microphones that mistakenly fell on piano strings. And while she maintains she thought her performance was mostly okay, she still suffered the humiliation of knowing it could have been better.

"I cried pretty much all day yesterday," she admits, adding that consolation texts from friends only compounded her dark cloud. "I kept spontaneously bursting into tears...but it was all right."

"If it wasn't live TV I would have busted a joke, but because it was TV, that's why I couldn't make it my own — I couldn't make the disaster my own," she jokingly adds.

She also makes a point to exonerate one alleged saboteur.

"Some people thought it was [Justin] Bieber rehearsing, but it wasn't him," she notes. "We're on great terms."

Adele says she recognized the production issues immediately once she took the stage, but says she was too nervous to fiddle with the equipment in an attempt to correct it, and froze. Either way, she admits she's usually "a bit pitchy, anyway," and was ultimately able to shake off her shame.

"Next time I have any sound issues, I am gonna start over," she resolves. "I'll be like 'Sorry, that's not working for me. If we have time, to do it again, let's do it. Otherwise, bye!'"
