If you found yourself rushing around to get eclipse glasses, you may have ended up buying them from someone just looking to make a buck. Please check here to see if your eclipse glasses are actually safe!

Special solar filters are CRUCIAL to viewing the solar eclipse. No matter how dark your normal sunglasses are, they are NOT safe.

NASA put together a list of reputable vendors of eclipse glasses. (There are also safe "handheld viewers" for sale. Just make sure they're legit.

INSPECT YOUR GLASSES. Make sure there are absolutely NO scratches or imperfections in the filters.

Outside the path of totality, you must always use a safe solar filter to view the sun directly.
