No bears will be injured or hurt in this process.

The National Park Service released a statement indicating that they, along with the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team, will be conducting scientific operations on black and grizzly bear populations in the Yellowstone National Park area.

The bears will be baited, trapped and anesthetized so that scientists can run tests and put radio collars on the bears.

The traps won't be near campsites or hiking trails, but there will be signs if you happen to be near a trap site.
