Beyonce’s Pregnancy Shatters Twitter Record

You know you’re a star when your pregnancy breaks records. Reports state that after Beyoncé debuted her baby bump at the 2011 VMAs on Sunday night, 8,868 tweets were sent. Per second. That’s a record for most tweets posted per second.

The announcement that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are expecting caused more of a stir on Twitter than the women’s World Cup earlier this year when Japan battled America, the Royal wedding and even the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Even fellow celebrities took to Twitter to send their congratulations to the couple.

Beyoncé is reportedly around four months along. This will be the couple’s first child.
