The state is full of rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other places that are perfect for fishing. I spend a lot of time on Montana rivers during the summer, and personally, river fishing is my favorite.

A couple of weeks ago my roommate asked me if I wanted to go to Canyon Ferry with him and his boss. Canyon Ferry is a popular destination for walleye anglers in Montana, but the lake is also full of huge trout.

My roommate doesn't have the best luck when it comes to fishing. He usually ends up getting skunked and discouraged. Since fishing for walleye can be difficult at times, we decided to target trout, so that he had a better chance of catching something.

It was a beautiful Saturday on Canyon Ferry, and the water was perfect. We were on the water shortly after 7:00 a.m. Fishing was slow at first, but things eventually picked up. At one point, we were catching so many fish that we couldn't keep up.

All in all, it was a great day. We ended up catching thirteen rainbows and one walleye. There's nothing that compares to a good day of fishing in Montana.

We kept fishing until a thunderstorm began rolling in at around 3:00 p.m. If there's one piece of advice that I have, it's to get off of the water as soon as you see a storm brewing. Canyon Ferry can be a nightmare when the "W" starts blowing. Also, make sure you wear sunscreen.
