The Bozeman Ice Festival turns 21 years old as one of the largest and most innovative ice climbing festivals in the world.

The 21st annual celebration of the Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival will gather the local outdoor community, ice enthusiasts from near and far, and world-renown professional climbers to celebrate one of Hyalite Canyon's most popular and historic pursuits.

The five-day community festival kicks off December, 6th at 5pm at the Emerson Cultural Center in downtown Bozeman and features ice climbing skills clinics on Hyalite's world class ice, slide shows and adventure films from around the world, legendary gear raffles from the top outdoor companies with nightly aprés-climb parties featuring a signature 'Hyalite APA' brewed exclusively for BIF by Bridger Brewing Company.

The Local Legends Dinner on Sunday December 10 features Dirty Socks Club co-founder and Bozeman-native Doug McCarty sharing stories of first ascents in the Beartooths and Hyalite and jumping freight trains right out of High School and vagabonding around western Canada climbing with Fred Beckey in the early 1970s. Attendees will be treated with a rare chance to earn a coveted membership card in the Dirty Socks Club signed by one of the founding members.

The Bozeman Ice Festival starts today, December 6, and runs through Sunday, December 10. For more information, and a schedule of events, click here.
