On July 15 at approximately 2:43 a.m., a Bozeman Police Officer responded to Sola Cafe (290 W. Kagy Blvd. # A) for a burglar alarm.

When the officer arrived, he noticed a tan colored cloth bag with orange lettering lying on the floor inside the cafe. Upon further examination, several similar bags and broken wine bottle were seen on the floor.

The officer also noticed a broken window with a trash can and a table that had been tipped over. It appeared that the suspect had used the table to climb through the window.

Additional responding officers found a metal pipe that was scratched up and had blood on it. It appeared that the pipe was used to break the window.

Officers heard a noise behind them in the parking lot and found a male walking away with a bag matching the ones on the floor of the cafe. They also heard clanking from inside the bag that sounded like glass bottles.

The male identified himself as Jackson Herring. He had dried blood on his hands, pants, and jacket. The suspect was then arrested and read his rights per Miranda.

Herring stated that he got blood all over himself by "tryin' to get into this [expletive] place." The suspect also stated that he had been in the cafe for a long time "drinkin' beer."

The suspect was transported to the Gallatin County Detention Center.
