BZN Airport Director: 737 Grounding Not Affecting Flights

According to the Associated Press, President Trump issued an emergency order to ground all commercial flights using the Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircraft after an Ethiopian airliner recently crashed, killing over 150 people. It was the second fatal crash involving the new Boeing jet.

While Boeing and aviation officials look deeper into potential issues with the plane, delays are possible at airports across the country, but according to Bozeman Airport Director Brian Sprenger, it shouldn't affect commercial air travel here in the Gallatin Valley.

Sprenger had this to say about the groundings:

"We are not aware of any of these aircraft flying any route into or out of Montana.  We understand these account for about 1 percent of the US airline fleet so as they work through these issues, the impact on connecting flights should also be minimal as well. "
