"How many people go through life and just waste their entire life because they never deal with themselves, and who they are?"

Caitlyn Jenner poses this question as she applies makeup at home in her Malibu estate, before honing in on her own personal struggle with gender identity. E! has released the first promo for their upcoming docu-series, I Am Cait, and it follows the reality star formerly known as Bruce Jenner as she grapples with what it means to now live as a woman in the public eye.

The onetime Olympic champion, like her famous daughters, is opting for the high-maintenance brand of femininity. As she lacquers more lip gloss on in the mirror, she observes in a voice over that "you start learning, kind of the pressure that women are under, all of the time, about their appearance." Welcome to the club, Caitlyn.

The clip, which sets Jenner's explorations to serene guitar music, also sees her leaving her property in a buggy and seeming a bit nervous about being out in the world — an act that does require some bravery despite the support of the Kardashian family, because there's no telling how people will react. "Isn't it great that maybe someday you'll be normal? Just blend into society?" Caitlyn jokes, as a friend assures her that she is normal. "I'm the new normal," Caitlyn replies, smiling. You can watch the trailer above.

As E! notes in their announcement of the show, "With the release of her Vanity Fair cover, Caitlyn has chosen to publicly identify as a woman and E! News will refer to her using female pronouns." In case it's not already apparent, we at PopCrush are doing the same.

I Am Cait premieres on Sunday, July 26, at 9 p.m on E!.
