Subpar coffee grounds and byways without bike lanes will soon be the least of one Los Angeles hipster's worries.

Darren Criss is slated to join the cast of the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel, the franchise's fifth iteration, according to E! Newsand he'll play a Silver Lake hipster who checks into the show's lodge on Halloween with his girlfriend to avoid trick-or-treaters. But he'll prove to be a less-than-desirable guest, and when his room service demands become too much to bear, Kathy Bates' hotel boss character is going to make him wish he'd considered a bed and breakfast instead.

E! notes this AHS season will be unique, as the heroes will be few and far between, and most everyone carries at least small traces of evil.

This won't be the first time Criss works with show creator Ryan Murphy. Between 2010 and 2015, the actor played Blaine Andersona student at the fictional Dalton Academy who was lead of its glee club, on Murphy's Glee.

Pop phenom Lady Gaga will also join the AHS cast for Hotel as a fashion-obsessed terror, Murphy told audiences at San Diego Comic-Con in June. "The designers have been coming out of the woodwork with looks for her," he promised. Well, Halloween is all about the costumes!
