Testing for radon is inexpensive and home repairs are affordable. SUMMARY:Bowl for Kids Sake
DESCRIPTION:What is Bowl for Kids' Sake all about? Bowl for Kids' Sake is about helping kids reach their potential. Bowl for Kids' Sake (BFKS) is Gallatin County's largest community fundraiser.  It raises crucial funds which make it possible to provide positive mentors in the lives of kids who need or want them. We ask participants to form teams of 5 bowlers and register your team with the Big Brothers Big Sisters office for a bowling date and time. Bowlers receive pledge forms and then ask their friends\, family and co-workers to financially sponsor them in Bowling for Kids' Sake. Your team then celebrates your success with a bowling party!  This includes 2 hours of free bowling\, pizza\, prizes and more! Why should I Bowl for Kids' Sake? Because your involvement really makes an impact!  With the growing pressures put on today's families and youth\, Big Brothers Big Sisters is even more needed.  Time and time again\, studies have shown the benefits of Big Brothers Big Sisters programs.  We have almost 40 years (just here in Gallatin County) of proven success in creating positve friendships that benefit children\, volunteers\, families\, schools\, neighborhoods\, and the community.  Last year we served over 300 children in Gallatin County and we hope to serve even more in the future.  You can help us reach this goal by being a part of BFKS and caring for our local children! How do I raise money? Each bowler is responsible for raising $100 each\, or $500 per team.  We make fundraising easy with online giving and lots of tips. Ask your friends\, family\, colleagues and dog walker to sponsor you and the Big Brothers Big Sisters cause.  Your sponsors can donate on-line or by cash or check. An easy way to raise money is by setting up your own online fudraising page at First Giving .  It takes 5 minutes\, then just email your friends and family a link to your page and watch the money roll in! Don't forget to bring your pledges and pledge form with of the names of your sponsors to the bowling event. Remember\, every $25\, $50 or $200 pledge makes a BIG difference for Big Brothers Big Sisters. You and your team are a significant part of helping a child succeed in life! What is the difference between Business\, Blackjack\, and Bingo bowling? In celebration of our 21st year of bowling for Gallatin County kids\, teams can choose from three different bowling theme days! Each bowling day and theme is family friendly so you really can't go wrong! The Business Bowl occurs on the two Friday shifts (October 5th and 12th). We call it that because many of the bowlers on that day are a part of corporate teams. Don't forget to bring your business cards to be entered for the Buisness Bowl prize drawing! Blackjack Bowl happens on each of the Saturdays (October 6th and 13th). BFKS emcees will hand out playing cards to bowlers throughout the bowling shift (for strikes\, spares\, gutter balls\, etc.). Whoever gets closest to 21 at the end of their shift gets a great prize! The Sunday October 14th Bingo Bowl has a fun bingo twist. Listen closly as our emcees call out numbers throughout your shift for a chance to win fun prizes! Get your Company Involved! Boost morale\, cultivate teamwork\, create a better business and help BBBS! Consider creating teams of 5 or becoming a Company Lane Sponsor ($625 gets you advertising at the event and free bowling for a team of 5 bowlers). Many companies participate in Bowl for Kids' Sake because it is a fantastic way to engage employees while helping our community and instilling pride in your company!  Create challenges between your company teams\, or challenge other businesses to add to the excitement and improve your outcome.  Many companies also match the pledges collected by their employees which doubles the impact of your fundraising!
SUMMARY:2013 Eagle Mount Horsemanship Camp
DESCRIPTION:Eagle Mount Bozeman’s inaugural Horsemanship Camp is looking for participants. The camp will prepare future volunteers\, ages 9 to 16\, for our equestrian program. The camp will be held Monday\, June 17th through Friday\, June 21st\, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Camp is designed to provide campers who want to become Eagle Mount volunteers with a fun and safe environment to learn about horses and to teach them about Eagle Mount’s mission. The campers will be introduced to balanced seat equitation and showmanship. They will work with Eagle Mount’s therapy horses throughout the week as they learn new skills while safely working with their assigned horse. Campers with little to no horse experience will benefit most from their week at camp. Activities will include learning about disabilities – physical and cognitive; adaptive riding equipment; feeding and horse health management; grooming and hoof care; leading and horse handling; tack cleaning and safety check; and stable management. The camp will culminate in a barn inspection to include cleanliness of their assigned stall\, tack and horse along with a Showmanship Class where campers will demonstrate their horsemanship skills. Founded in 1982\, Eagle Mount’s mission is to provide therapeutic recreation for people with disabilities of all ages and children with cancer. For people living with a disability or cancer\, recreation means a lot more than “play time.” Recreational activities offer healing\, life-affirming\, joyful and satisfying experiences. When people are with Eagle Mount\, the focus is always on their abilities. At Eagle Mount\, every challenge inspires a new adventure. The deadline for registration is May 1st\, 2013. The fee for the five day camp is $300. For more information please visit www.eaglemount.org or contact Maggee Harrison\, (mharrison@eaglemount.org) or Anna Turecek\, (aturecek@eaglemount.org ) at 406-586-1781.
