As snow continues to melt from higher mountain elevations, daily rain showers are contributing to flood concerns in Lewis and Clark county and it's surrounding creeks.

According to the National Weather Service:

The flood advisory for rain and snow melt remains in effect until 8:00 PM Monday for Lewis And Clark County.

Minor flooding continued across portions of Lewis And Clark County.

Although flood waters have receded somewhat, additional higher  elevation snow melt or rainfall could cause small streams and creeks to rise back up to bankfull, or slightly exceed bankfull, over the next few days.

Some locations where minor flooding is either occurring or could develop are, but are not limited to:

  • Tenmile creek and prickly pear creek in the Helena valley.
  • the Lyons Creek Area south of Wolf Creek.
  • Elk Creek near Augusta.
  • locations around Lincoln, including the Stemple Pass area.
