A former Montana State University basketball coach has been getting a lot of national attention since leaving Bozeman in 2023. However, his time as head coach of the Montana State Men's basketball team won't be forgotten. He's one of the most successful and decorated coaches in program history.

In 2023, Danny Sprinkle announced he was leaving Montana State for a head coaching job at Utah State. During his time at MSU, he led the men's basketball team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2022 and 2023, and was named Big Sky Coach of the Year in 2021-22. As head coach of the Bobcats, he led the team to a 81-43 record during his four year tenure.

Sprinkle played for Helena High School, and was a standout player at Montana State in the 90s. Now, he's been making national headlines due to an impressive first season as head coach of the Utah State Aggies men's basketball team. Sprinkle's first year at Utah State couldn't have gone any better. The Aggies are 26-5 overall, and 14-4 in the Mountain West Conference. On Monday, Sprinkle was named the Mountain West Coach of the Year, and the Aggies are a heavy favorite to win the Mountain West title. Great Osobor, who left Montana State following Sprinkle's departure, was named the Mountain West Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season.
