Frank Ocean is the pop music “It” boy right now. With ‘Channel Orange’ landing this week and a recent, brave confession about his sexuality, Ocean is making headlines for both his music and his personal life. There was no time like the present for him to pose for famed photog Terry Richardson, who has shot the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna. A shoot with Richardson is another piece of evidence that Frank Ocean has truly arrived, at least from a pop culture standpoint.

Check out the shots of Ocean, looking pensive and handsome in a simple print button up shirt. He offers a crooked smile in one shot, and it’s like the camera isn’t even on him; it’s as though we stumbled upon the singer. The images are in the classic, black and white Richardson style, where he captures his subject’s face and emotion in an instant. That man has a gift. And the camera clearly has a thing for Frank Ocean.

Ocean also performed a gig at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on July 17, performing ‘Pyramids’ as well as a cover of Prince‘s ‘When You Were Mine.’ He was joined by formerly missing-in-action Odd Future groupmate Earl Sweatshirt for ‘Super Rich Kids.’ You can enjoy video of all three performances below.
