With temperatures in the 80s, you’re probably not thinking about Thanksgiving quite yet, but if you’re planning on running Huffing for Stuffing this year, you’ll want to read this.

Online registration for Bozeman’s annual Thanksgiving Day run opens Friday, June 24 at 6 a.m. You can register online or by stopping at Schnee’s on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first 400 people to register will receive some limited edition, early registration race swag.

This is the 10th year for the 5K and 10K runs, which are held every year on Thanksgiving morning, starting and ending at the Museum of the Rockies. This year the event falls on Thursday, Nov. 24.

Proceeds from the race go to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. In 2015, $51,000 was raised, according to the Huffing for Stuffing website. Over the nine years that the run has been held, almost $291,000 total has been raised.

Runners and walkers get T-shirts, snacks and warm drinks, which are nice on years that it’s especially cold. (I remember running a few years ago under several layers of clothing with wool socks on my feet). Additional prizes are usually handed out to anyone who "smokes the turkey," finishing before racers dressed as male and female turkeys.

If you’re among the first 400 to register but can't make it to Schnee’s to get your goodies on Friday, you can stop by a couple other locations:

Tuesday, June 28: HRDC’s Gallatin Valley Food Bank, 602 Bond Street between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Wednesday, June 29: HRDC, 32 South Tracy Ave., between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
