With an injured DeNarius McGhee, Sophomore Jake Bleskin will be taking charge of the Bobcats' offense this Saturday home game against Colorado Mesa in his first career start as a Bobcat.

Bleskin's name may sound very familiar and that is because his older brother, Tanner Bleskin, is one of the Bobcats' star receivers. Will we see some connections made between the brothers on Saturday? I can only imagine how great it would be to play in a stadium filled with over 10,000 fans alongside your brother. I hope the practice in the backyard as kids pays off!

Jake Bleskin discusses his preparations for his first Bobcat start this weekend

Jake Bleskin attended high school at CM Russell where he earned Class AA Offensive MVP honors as a Junior in 2009. He threw for over 4,900 yards, rushed over 600 yards and threw 45 touchdowns in his junior and senior seasons at CM Russell winning the state football championship in 2010. Bleskin redshirted his first year at MSU in 2011 and in the spring of 2012 was named the Tom Parac Most Improved Offensive Player.

Bleskin has played in five games at MSU as backup quarterback and completed three of his four pass attempts.

The Bobcats' offensive line is doing a stellar job blocking this season allowing the Bobcats to average 226.5 rushing yards per game. Will the strategy be to keep the ball on the ground, or will Bleskin wow us with his untapped passing skills?

The Bobcats will take on Colorado Mesa at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday September 14th, 2013 at Bobcat Stadium. Tune into the game on XL Country 100.7. Go Cats!
