Man Spends $100K to Look Like Real-Life Ken Doll

The Doctors

Barbie’s delicate features and impossible dimensions have long been accused of screwing with the body image of young women. Apparently Ken — Barbie’s hunk of plastic, is having the same effect on some young men.

Justin Jedlica is actually 32 now, but over the last 14 years he has undergone over 90 surgeries in attempt to look like a real-life Ken doll.

‘I’ve always been into plastic surgery because it’s an extension of me being creative,’ Jedlica said of the procedures, which have cost him roughly $100,000.

Jedlica has endured five rhinoplasties, a cranial brow bone shape and augmentations to his cheeks, lips, buttocks and chin, among other modifications. He intends to keep perfecting his “canvas,” despite the risks associated with having so many procedures.

While it’s debatable if all the surgeries have left Jedlica looking like the Mattel toy, the next logical question is if the New York man is trying to hook with self-proclaimed human Barbie Valeria Lukyanova.

And the answer would be a resounding no.

“I do find her beautiful,” he said in an interview with Huffington Post. “[But] it appears to me that much of her look is added makeup, fake hair and ‘slimming’ corsets.Drag queens have put on the same illusions with makeup and costumes for years.”

Looks like this Ken won’t be invited to the Barbie Dream House anytime soon. Though we’d never do this, we might consider a GI Joe makeover; but we’ll only go so far. We can only hope Jedlica has some limits too — Ken dolls don’t have genitals, after all.
