You may notice today that you can't get on some major websites, don't worry - this isn't your computer or connection.  This is a protest against SOPA - Stop Online Piracy Act.  SOPA is a proposed legislation that is working it's way through congress.  Here are the details.According to CNN -

"SOPA is an acronym for the Stop Online Piracy Act. It's a proposed bill that aims to crack down on copyright infringement by restricting access to sites that host pirated content. SOPA's main targets are "rogue" overseas sites which are a trove for illegal downloads of movies and other digital content."

Here is a list of those sites planning on protesting SOPA - Google, CopyBlogger, Internet Archive, Creative Commons, Daily Kos, Boing Boing, RackSpace, Firefox, O'Reilly, Wordpress, MakeZine, Ignite Show, ICanHazCheezburger, Reddit, Wikipedia, LiveCulturesWeb, Tucows.
