Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, Nicole Kidman and more attended the Sixth Biennial UNICEF Balllast night (January 12), located at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. Carey also performed for the crowd, singing a small selection of hits.

Athlete David Beckham received the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership Award. Beckham was celebrated for the work he does with his collaborative charity with UNICEF, called 7, an organization geared toward helping "protect millions of children from danger."

In his acceptance speech, Beckham said (via PEOPLE), "I am humbled tonight. We live in a world in which children still die of preventable diseases. Children are still being abused. I have four children of my own. I will not stop supporting this charity that does so much for so many children around the world."

And although his wife, Victoria Beckham, couldn't attend the ball, she posted a photo of the soccer star to Instagram and wrote, "We are so proud of @davidbeckham receiving the @UNICEFUSA humanitarian leadership award at the #UNICEFball X You are an Inspiration to so many people with the Incredible work you do we love u so much Victoria,Brooklyn,Romeo,Cruz and Harper x."
