Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys performed together at the 2013 Grammys, mashing up a performance of their songs 'Daylight' and 'Girl on Fire,' respectively. It didn't exactly feel like an "Oh yeah, that makes sense" partnership, but more like a way for the producers to pair up two acts, right next to one another, without having to swap out the stage or set up.

Even though the pop rock band and the soulful pop singer didn't seem like an obvious pairing, butting the songs up against one another worked. Maroon 5 did their thing and delivered their hit, while Keys grabbed drumsticks, trading her piano for a drum, and tapped away, adding the rhythmic heartbeat to her most recent smash.

One other way that Maroon 5 and Keys paired perfectly together? Well, we have to admit that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Miss Keys are two of the more genetically gifted pop musicians working today.

Overall, we enjoyed hearing both songs as they bled into one another. We love when pop and rock can co-exist on the Grammy stage, as they did this evening (Feb. 10.)

Maroon Keys. Alicia 5. It was good!
