This Christmas I was invited to spend the holiday with my boyfriend Ross and his family in Great Falls.  My mom had just made the trip out here on Thanksgiving, so I took a deep breath and decided to take them up on the offer.  The weekend was one of the best Christmas's I have had in recent memory, with only one moment of horror.

I have been preparing for this trip for what seems like forever.  I had planned each gift carefully and was excited to have a down home Christmas, even if I wasn't going to be with my family.  I packed the car up with the presents (very carefully not to mess up the wrapping job I had spent a ton of time on) and my dog Sunshine and we headed on our way.

I stopped in Helena and got out of the car for two minutes, and my ever curious dog Sunshine decided to drink half of my mocha.  You can guess my worries when I got back into the car and saw her nose covered in Chocolate and coffee.  Not a good thing considering we were going to be at Ross's parents house in an hour and a half.  I got to Great Falls and everything seemed just fine.

Christmas Eve was wonderful!  We started out with Church, then had an amazing dinner and a ton of fun opening more presents than I have ever seen in my life at Ross's aunts house.  It was about midnight when some of Ross's family headed back home to find the Sunshine had busted out of her kennel - and went to the bathroom twice on their white carpet in the basement.  I was horrified.  There Ross and I were, scrubbing the carpets until 2 in the morning.  Mr. Patience (aka Ross) just laughed,  I wanted to cry!

The rest of the weekend went out with out any other mishaps, and I was blown away by the kindness of Ross's family.  The weather was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the memory's will last forever.   I guess Sunshine's mishap will always be a story to remember, but I think I could have done without!  I guess I am a classic case of  "Must Love Dogs".   HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
