The current referee's for the NFL are on a lockout, and preseason football starts this week.  What does that mean?  The NFL had to reach out to other conference's to help them fill the referee position.  Because of this, history will be made and this week -  the first female EVER will referee an NFL Game.

Shannon Eastin, who's worked high school games and college games for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, is scheduled to be part of the replacement crew working the preseason game Thursday between the Green Bay Packers and the San Diego Chargers. This opportunity made possible because of the lockout comes one year after the NFL's head of officials said the league was considering hiring a female referee full time, saying, "We have some in our pipeline, and I expect we'll see it soon."

OH - AND GO PACK GO!
