Southwest Montanans from Deer Lodge to Roudup and all points in between turned on their blue lights Wednesday night, showing support for fallen Broadwater County Deputy Mason Moore as well as all law enforcement officers who keep us safe each day.

In all, 17,100 blue light bulbs were handed out at dozens of businesses, fire departments and other locations across Southwest Montana on Wednesday as part of Operation Blue Light. On Wednesday, thousands of people turned out to collect their blue bulbs. They lit them Wednesday night as a way to say "thank you" to law enforcement.

We'd also like thank everyone who participated in Operation Blue Light. After announcing Operation Blue Light on the XL Country Morning Show, we were overwhelmed with generosity and support through emails, phone calls, texts, and even people dropping by the radio station.

This week our community remembers Deputy Mason Moore who was shot and killed on Highway 287 near Three Forks on May 16, 2017. A three-year veteran of the Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was a husband and a father.
