Richest Person in Every State, Who Tops the List in Montana?

There are a lot of people with a lot of money moving to Montana these days. The scenery, the solitude and the endless opportunities to experience year-round outdoor recreation are all contributing factors. Let's face it, the benefits to living here are no secret at this point.

With so much money coming to the state, it begs the question, who exactly is the richest person in Montana? Is it a Hollywood star? A business tycoon who relocated to one of those extravagant homes at the Yellowstone Club? Or is it someone with deeper roots in our state?

According to forbes.com, Dennis Washington is the richest person in Montana, with a fortune valued at $5.9 billion.

The 83 year-old Washington is an industrialist, who owns a controlling interest in a group of privately held businesses, collectively known as the Washington Companies.

Washington's primary residence is listed as Missoula and Washington-Grizzly stadium at the University of Montana is named for him.
