It was another high-flying weekend at the box office for 'Rio.'

The kids' animated movie, featuring the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, took the number one spot for the second weekend in a row, earning an impressive $28.6 million on over 3,800 screens. Since its release last weekend, the movie has grossed $81.3 million and counting.

Close behind 'Rio' was the latest movie from Tyler Perry, 'Madea's Big Happy Family.' Despite mediocre reviews, the film still managed to pull in $25.8 million for a solid second-place finish.

Also finishing strong were the Robert Pattinson vehicle 'Water for Elephants,' which drew $17.5 million, slightly higher than some were predicting, and 'Hop,' which crossed the $100 million mark thanks to a $12.5 million weekend.

Unfortunately, it wasn't all good news: 'Scream 4' dropped 62 percent from last weekend, earning just $7.5 million. To date, the movie has earned just $31. 2 million, which is a little less than what 'Scream 3' earned in its opening weekend, in 2000. Ouch.
