An incident of road rage turned violent Tuesday morning, leaving two men detained and one injured.

At around 8:22 a.m., Gallatin County sheriff’s deputies were called to a report of a fight and gunshots in the parking lot of the Korner Klub at Four Corners, west of Bozeman, according to Lt. Ryan Stratman.

The argument appears to have stemmed from a road rage incident, Stratman said. One man produced a gun and fired shots, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Deputies responded quickly and both men were detained. One man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a laceration above his eye from the fight. No one was injured as a result of gunshots, Stratman added.

At around 8:45 a.m., sheriff’s office personnel were still at the scene. An area of the parking lot was taped off.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and investigating the scene to determine what charges will be filed.

The sheriff's office is asking any members of the public that may have witnessed any part of the altercation or driving that involved a black Ford Super Duty pickup and a dark blue Chevrolet Traverse this morning to contact sheriff’s detectives at 582-2121.
