Runners Huff For Stuffing During Annual Bozeman Run
To all that ran Huffing for Stuffing this year - you are brave! What an amazing event!
The air was crisp, the snow was crunchy under their feet and the sound of a turkey gobble pierced the air.
Before tucking in to their Thanksgiving meals, around 2,000 people shrouded in mittens, hats and multiple layers of clothing gathered at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman to take part in the Huffing for Stuffing Thanksgiving Day run.
Well over 2,000 people registered for this year's running, putting it on par with 2009's Huffing for Stuffing, according to Gallatin Valley Food Bank Program Director Tim Trzinski. It's unclear if predictions for temperatures in the negative numbers chased away any runners. Despite the cold, adults, children and even a few dogs took to the course, cheered on by people who had ventured out of their houses to clank cow bells and yell words of encouragement.
But more than just a fun reason to don your favorite pilgrim hat or turkey costume, Huffing for Stuffing is also a way to help out those in need at the holidays. The run is a fundraiser for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.
Trzinski says each year the community shows tremendous support for the food bank, turning out to run or volunteer for the annual run.
