Bacon. In a cup. Not much more to say than awesome. When I saw the ad for Bacon Bowls on TV, I immediately texted at least half a dozen friends who just had to have these things. Christmas shopping is done.
I have never personally cooked a turkey. I hope that when my time comes, I will have someone close by to aide in the process. Good thing we have YouTube nowadays because I basically just learned everything I needed to in exactly 2 minutes.
Let me just say this, I am not a great cook. I cook from my heart - but if that's the way you describe your skills you know you're bad! My 3 aunts got a big kick out of my lack of culinary knowledge during one of my early trips home after moving away to college. I remember sitting in the farmhouse and being the center of an unwanted laughter session. Shortly after getting back to Bozeman, I received "The Joy Of Cooking" from my librarian Aunt Donna. Inside was a simple note - "This will show you how to make most things".
I come from a relatively small family. Most of my Thanksgivings have been spent on my family farm with my grandparents, mom, aunts & uncles and cousins. This year we decided to switch it up and my mom is making the trip here for the Holiday. I am super excited about this but it does mean one very important thing - like it or not I am about to cook my first ever Thanksgiving Meal!
