HELENA, Mont. (AP) - A man who apparently summoned the courage to rob a Montana pizza restaurant changed his mind as the clerk started to hand him money, broke down crying and ended up leaving with a pizza to feed his hungry family.
Five men are in custody so far in a savage baseball bat beating and robbery at a Missoula convenience store. Two of the men are former Montana Grizzly football players.
A very gutsy robber broke into a Helena home and stole a sheriff's badge and .40-caliber pistol. The robber knew exactly what he was after as there was a patrol car parked outside the house when he robbed the home. If you are questionable about any civilian clothed person wearing a badge, ask for identification and travel to a public location if being pulled over.
Thursday (12/16) morning just before 10am, an adult male approached a female clerk at the First Security Bank located in County Market on North 7th Avenue in Bozeman. The man pointed a handgun toward the clerk, leaned over the counter and demanded money. The clerk complied, gave him some money and he fled the store.
