Then + Now: Rachael Leigh Cook from ‘She’s All That,’ ‘Josie and the Pussycats’ + More

Rachael Leigh Cook She's All That

In the late ’90s we were swept with Rachael Leigh Cook fever — girl was everywhere! And then she kind of … wasn’t anymore. But we’ve got all the details on what she’s been up to in recent years.

Then:

In 1995, Rachael Leigh Cook made her big screen debut in ‘The Baby-Sitters Club,’ followed by appearances in ‘Tom and Huck’ and a very memorable “This is Your Brain on Drugs” PSA — it was an update on the old “your brain is an egg” thing, but with a twist: She smashes the kitchen to pieces with a frying pan. It was epic.

And then her career really took off, leading to roles in ‘She’s All That’ and ‘Josie and the Pussycats.’ But not long after, it seemed like she just wasn’t that much of a big deal anymore for some weird, inexplicable reason.

Cook never left acting, but the roles she took were in smaller films and TV shows. She’s also done a lot of voice-overs for video games, including ‘Kingdom Hearts’ and ‘Final Fantasy,’ and in cartoons like ‘Batman Beyond.’

Cook had a recurring role on ‘Psych,’ starred in several TV movies, and had roles in films like ‘Nancy Drew.’ Currently, she stars in the TNT procedural drama ‘Perception,’ which will debut its second season in June. She’s married to fellow actor Daniel Gillies and the pair are expecting their first child this fall.
