Bozeman is home to a lot of really great things, some big and some small. We have our amazing Montana State University, home of our Bobcats, we have endless trails to enjoy hiking, biking, and running, numerous dog parks, and great local businesses.

In September of 2024, Bozeman will also get to call themselves the home of the largest block construction building in the state of Montana. Considering how big our state is, and how Bozeman isn't the largest city in the state, it is quite the accomplishment.

The building that holds the title for largest block construction building in the state is the new court building that should be finished up next year.

Inside the building you can find four District courtrooms and two Justice courtrooms. There will also be a Youth Court, and the District Court will also be in the new building. Also inside the new court building, you will find a large jury assembly-slash-community room for the public to utilize after hours.

Another great amenity that the building will bring, is how inmates get to court. Currently, inmates leave the detention center, enter the public, then enter into the courthouse. With this new building, inmates will never step foot into the public. They will go directly from the detention center to the courts building, then they head up into the mezzanine, and head down to their court room, all without ever seeing the public or county staff.

New security measures are just one reason the approval of this new building was so important and did get passed. The new courthouse building should be finished by September of 2024.
