Snow, wind, and cold temps are moving into the Bozeman area for the weekend. Here is the latest from the National Weather Service:

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 am MST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow...which is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 am MST Saturday.

* Timing and main impact: a fast moving cold front will streak across the area Friday evening bringing widespread snow and gusty winds through Saturday morning. This will create potentially hazardous conditions for anyone outside Friday night and Saturday morning.

* Snow accumulations: snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches will be expected across the lower elevations, with 3 to 6 inches in the mountains

* winds and visibility: winds will increase in speed through the evening hours and will reduce visibilities below 1 mile at times in blowing snow.

* Other impacts: wind speeds will combine with dropping temperatures to create wind chill values as low as 20 degrees below zero.
