I recently received an email from Costco about a product I purchased in 2021. The Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker and Air Fryer. While I’ve used it often without incident, the product has now been recalled due to serious safety concerns.

Why is the Product Being Recalled?

The product has been recalled because people have been severely burned by it.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, the recall was issued after multiple reports of users suffering severe burns. The problem? The pressure-cooking lid can sometimes be opened while the contents are still under pressure, causing scalding hot food and liquid to erupt from the cooker.

If you own one of the products above, you are advised to stop using it immediately and discard the current pressure cooking lid. Even if your unit has worked without issues, it’s important to take this recall seriously. Pressure cookers involve high heat and pressure, and using a defective one could lead to serious injury.

More information about the recall can be found on the company website. You can find additional information [here].
