This ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finalist Was Just Arrested for Suspicion of Domestic Violence
Just one day after the America’s Got Talent Season 13 finale, finalist Michael Ketterer was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence on Thursday (Sept. 20) in Hollywood. TMZ reported that the LAPD were called to a hotel after Ketterer had a fight with his wife, where the police found her with a visible red mark.
He admitted to TMZ that he and his wife got into a big argument in their room but referred to it as a “misunderstanding.” He also claimed his wife told the LAPD that she had no intentions to press charges against him, but he was arrested anyway. He was released on $50,000 bail Friday morning (Sept. 21).
Ketterer finished in fifth place this season, losing to Shin Lim, but became a fan favorite early on with his audition, receiving the coveted Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell. During his audition, he told a touching story about the immense love he feels towards his family, explaining that his greatest motivation is showing his six children, five who came out of foster care, that anything’s possible.
“When you’re surviving you can’t dream. And that has been one of the most rewarding things—it’s providing them with a home and a safe place where they’re free to dream,” the singer said before his audition performance. He also moved Cowell to tears with his rendition of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," with Cowell saying, "I would love to be able to give your family the $1 million and a chance because you're just an amazing guy."
