As We Celebrate President’s Day, Montana’s All-Time Favorite Is?
It's been said, hundreds of thousands of times that the most powerful person in the world is the President of the United States. While some might think that certainly is debatable, today is probably not the day for it.
Why? Well, today is all about presidents.
Today we celebrate those that have been presidents of these United States. Since George Washington, we've had 46 presidencies in total and a whole lot of people have a whole lot of opinions on a few of those, especially in the last several years.
The first President Montanans had a chance to vote for was Benjamin Harrison back in 1892.
Historically, Montana tends to vote for the Republican candidate, although the state has gone "Blue" a few times in the past with the last time being back in 1992 for Bill Clinton. How about before Clinton? Well, you would have to go back to 1964 when the majority of Montanans voted for Lyndon Johnson.
So which presidents make the "My Favorite" list for Montanans?
For the most part, we tend to like the presidents that we can remember. So depending on your age, probably has a whole lot of say on who you think is the best. This was mostly the case when we asked our fellow Montanans who was their favorite president.
The Top 3 favorites according to Montanans? Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump, and Abraham Lincoln in no particular order. Others that were mentioned were George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
Ironically, no one mentioned our current president as their favorite.
While there is no one around today that was around back in the early days of our country, many of us certainly hold many of those men in the highest regard. When we remember their sacrifice and their love of not only the country but the many future generations that would be a part of it, we begin to see the genius at work.
So, whoever's your favorite, Happy President's Day, and God Bless America.
