If we can’t trust Star Magazine, who can we trust? That’s the question being asked this morning by thousands of shaken readers upon the discovery that the tabloid’s recent exclusive interview with a post-partum Beyonce may have been somewhat less than authentic.

That’s the scoop from Access Hollywood, whose journalistic sleuths contacted Beyonce’s people and were told that the Star story, which purports to contain quotes from the singer about her relationship with Jay-Z and her experiences giving birth to baby Blue Ivy, is “completely made up” and “absolutely not” legitimate.

Meanwhile, Star editor Anna Pointer is sticking to her guns and insisting that the story is real no matter what Beyonce says. “It is not made up or fictitious at all,” said Pointer when contacted by Access Hollywood. “We bought the interview from a reporter in the U.S. who conducted the interview with Beyonce before the birth. The reporter then obtained the ‘top-up’ info after the birth, which we believe to have been signed off by a girl on her team.”

While Beyonce and Star sort out all this editorial confusion, it sounds like the time is ripe for someone else to step in and nab the real, honest-to-goodness first exclusive interview with Blue Ivy’s mom. Who knows? Maybe it’ll be you!
