The footage shows the dog sprinting toward the massive animal, and as you might expect, the encounter didn’t end well for the pit bull. It’s unclear whether the dog escaped from a vehicle or was let out by its owner, but the outcome is the same. The bison reacted, and the dog learned a painful lesson.

Bison Sends Pit Bull Flying in Yellowstone National Park

As a pet owner, I can’t imagine allowing my dog to chase after a wild animal. Not only is it irresponsible, but the odds of things ending well for the pet are slim. Watching the video, I genuinely feel bad for the dog. That head butt looked brutal. Fortunately, it appears the pit bull wasn’t seriously injured, but it could have been much worse.
