The National Weather Service is predicting that the Gallatin Valley will see its highest river levels this spring over the course of the next few days. If you live, work, or will be recreating around our local rivers this weekend, make sure that you keep an eye on water levels. If you are in an area near a waterway that looks like it might flood, then you should assume it will flood and take the appropriate actions to protect your family and property.

Spring flooding in our area is often tied closely to rain and mountain snow melt with the rivers often reaching their crests in the middle of the night when people are asleep.  Keep in mind that once flooding has occurred, the damage is done and it is often to late to protect your property.

When it comes to floods, being proactive is your best action.
