Bozeman Man Arrested in Connection With Downtown Shooting
According to an arrest report, 21-year-old Riley Alexander Woodhouse has been arrested in connection with Thursday morning's shooting in downtown Bozeman.
Woodhouse is currently being held at the Gallatin County Detention Center on two counts of Attempted Deliberate Homicide.
Just after 2:00 a.m., Thursday, Bozeman police responded to a reported shooting at 15 N. Rouse Ave., just behind the Pour House Bar. When officers arrived at the scene, they found that two adult males had been shot.
The two victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident appears to have been the result of an altercation between a group of six people that began earlier inside of Bar IX. That altercation then turned into a physical fight in the alley behind the bar. After a short time the fight was broken up and the parties appeared to go their separate ways.
However, according to arrest documents, a few minutes later Woodhouse and two other males returned to the alley. According to witnesses, they were carrying guns and what looked to be a pipe.
The report states that four gunshots went off and the men were then seen fleeing the scene toward Mendenhall.
One of the victims was reportedly shot in the leg and the chest, the other in the leg and pelvis.
Based on the investigation at the scene, police were able to locate Woodhouse, the suspected shooter, a short time later at a residence on Fen Way on the north side of Bozeman.
He was taken into custody without incident.
