A rare scene unfolded in the sky above Bozeman late Sunday afternoon.

A funnel cloud could be seen around four o'clock as a storm rolled through the area.

At one point it seemed that the cloud would continue forming a longer funnel that might stretch closer to the ground, but in the end it didn't get much bigger than in the image below.

Many people in my neighborhood could be seen outside of their homes staring up into the sky. Just minutes later social media began to buzz with chatter and pictures of the event.

Here is a glimpse of the funnel cloud that hung over Bozeman on Sunday just in case you missed it.
