Halsey Addresses 2020 Grammys Snub: ‘None of It Matters’
After the 2020 Grammy nominations were revealed, fans noticed one pop star missing from the list, Halsey.
The 25-year old's smash hit "Without Me" and collaboration with BTS on "Boy With Luv" were eligible for nominations at the 2020 awards show.
In a series of tweets, Halsey spoke directly to her fans asking them to not waste their time on what could have been. "Please do not waste your anger or frustration," Halsey pleaded to her fans. "I see a lot of you are upset. of course, I'm sad too. None of it matters. Literally none of it. You’re here. I'm here. + everything is gonna stay exactly the same and without me is still a super tight, record-breaking song."
Although she may not be nominated this year, the "Graveyard" singer is keeping her thoughts positive. "Congrats to the nominees," she continued. "So much great music nominated this year. Definitely see a lot of my friends and colleagues missing from the nom lists, but the music speaks! This is how it goes every year right?"
Halsey then responded to all of the negative tweets concerning BTS' nomination snub. "Deleting and ignoring all negativity. BTS deserved many nominations," she tweeted. "I am, however, unsurprised that they weren’t acknowledged. The U.S. is so far behind on the whole movement. the time will come."
Before heading back to bed to get some rest, Halsey added one last tweet. "P.s. super happy to see @billieeilish crushing it. I wish I had someone like her to look up to when I was growing up," she concluded. "She’s unstoppable."
