Have you ever wondered what the smallest town in Montana is? We did some research and here's what we found.

Montana is full is very small towns. It fact some towns are so small that you might miss them on a map if you're not paying close attention. That's the case with Sumatra, MT. It's so small that it's listed as an "Unincorporated Community."

It shares its name with an island in Indonesia, and is located in Rosebud County. It's about halfway between Roundup and Forsyth on Highway 12. There are only a few homes remaining in Sumatra. It's so small that it wasn't even listed in the 2010 census. It's about 3 1/2 hours from Bozeman.

Ten miles to the east, you'll find the town of Ingomar, MT that has a whopping population of 34 people.
