Wyoming is full of mysteries and stories that will leave you shaking your head in disbelief. For instance, ghosts and witches living on Casper Mountain; towns with very small populations; ghost towns; an animal that's half jackrabbit and half antelope called the Jackalope; UFO and Bigfoot sightings; and mysterious structures like The Smith Mansion near Cody and the entrance to Yellowstone National Park, in the Wapiti Valley.

The Smith Mansion is quite the interesting mystery that continues to stump researchers, so much so that it was recently featured on Forbidden Mysteries. From the YouTube page:

Forbidden Mysteries delves into secret societies, royal intrigues, and the untold stories that shaped our world. From the enigmatic relics and conspiracies of Forbidden History to the chilling investigations of Royal Murder Mysteries, Nazi Murder Mysteries, and Medieval Murder Mysteries, every story uncovers a hidden truth.

The Smith Mansion, which locals in the Cody area also refer to as the Pagoda House or simply The Crazy House, is a wild-looking cabin that  Francis Lee Smith began building in the 1970s, and continued to build over the years, adding rooms and viewing platforms, and the home kept growing. In April of 1992, while working on the roof on a windy Wyoming afternoon, Smith fell off the house and died.

The story is definitely a mysterious Wyoming story, as noted by many publications over the years, and as it's the anniversary month of Smith's death, it's come up again. The featured segment from Forbidden Mysteries not only includes great information about the mansion but also features Smith's daughter, Sunny Larsen, giving a tour and telling stories of life in the mansion.

Sunny owned the home until 2019, when it was sold, but the Smith Mansion mystery lives on. Check out the video below.
