While Montana doesn't lack for year round outdoor activities, there does seem to be more to do as the weather warms up in Montana.
One our families favorite things to do in the summer is to go hiking, and if you have ever hiked in Montana you may have come across what are called "Rock Cairns."

Park Rangers Say To Knock Them Down As You Come Across Them
Rock Cairns are used as identifiers or markers along the hiking trail.
They are meant to say "you're on the right path," but Park Rangers say they should be knocked down, so why is that?
Well according to a statement from the Yosemite National Park Facebook page, these stacks can upset insects, reptiles, and microorganisms.
The post goes on to say that while rock cairns are great for navigation, they should only be built by park rangers themselves.
So the next time you see one of these rock stack formations, go ahead and knock them down.
