Let's be honest, many of us are selfie-crazy. It seems that in this age of social media unless you have pictures, it didn't happen and while that's fine for the most part, there are places here in Montana where it's illegal to take photos and you might be breaking the law, and aren't even aware of it.

The last thing you want to do is get arrested for trying to take a selfie, so let's talk about the places in Montana where you're not allowed to take pictures.

Taking photos on Private Property Is Not Allowed In Montana Without Permission

While this should probably be common sense, sometimes our curiosity gets the best of us. There are millions of acres open to folks living in Montana, however, when you step on private property without permission you're officially trespassing and the penalty for trespassing in Montana is as follows:

A person convicted of the offense of criminal trespass to property shall be fined not to exceed $500 or be imprisoned in the county jail for any term not to exceed 6 months, or both.

Of course, it should also be mentioned that many Montanans are armed, and the last thing you want to do while trying to capture the perfect selfie is to be staring down the wrong side of a gun.
