On the 11th of July, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Bozeman's Kirk Park.

According to the Bozeman Police Chief, it appears that a group of juveniles had gathered in the park. At some point there ended up being a confrontation between two juvenile males. That confrontation turned into a stabbing.

In many cases that involve violence, it's not uncommon for the individuals involved to end up knowing each other outside the incident. That is apparently the case here.

As the parent of a son who is the same age of the victim in this case, my heart absolutely aches for the parents of the boy. It's clear that times have changed from when I was growing up, and unfortunately the uptick in youth violence is constantly making headlines.

In this case, the victim was stabbed 16 times. 8 times in the lower abdomen and 8 times in the back puncturing both lungs. A long road to recovery is in place for the victim which means and endless trail of medical bills.

The family does have an active Go Fund Me set up and we ask that if you feel as though you are able to help the family with these unexpected and unfortunate medical expenses, you can do so below.
