I'm old enough to remember when shopping for a new vehicle was a big deal.

Now days, a whole lot of car shopping is done online as folks pit dealerships against each other to get the very best deal, but when I was a kid, it was a totally different process.

Back then it was a family affair. The dealership smelled like a mixture of coffee, car cleaner, and cigarettes. The sales folks worked hard to gain your trust and they told you about all the features on the vehicle that you were looking at while they also proudly wore they're 70's/80's clothing with Brylcreem in their hair.

Of course, then came the test drive. Sometimes, unfortunately, things change.

Here in Montana, we have lots of different car dealerships, some that have been around for a long time, others are newer to the scene, but if you're looking for that old school feel, you need to check out Danhof Motors near Manhattan.

They're having a special event on August 15th where they will be serving up donuts and coffee and it'[s a change for folks to get together and talk about cars, trucks, SUV's and any other thing with wheels that runs on gas. Plus, there's going to be free swag while supplies last.

The event kicks off at 9 am and will go to 11 am and everyone is welcome.

The show room is filled with old school Chevy's and is a site to behold, oh, and the really cool thing? The Danhof's are still around, so for those who are looking to talk cars, there's a couple of generations of Danhof's you can talk to.
