Montana Leaders Respond To The Loss Of Charlie Kirk
Today is a tough day. Not only do we remember the 9/11 attacks that took place 24 years ago, but also for many, we're reeling over the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was shot and killed at Utah Valley University yesterday, almost 20 minutes into his scheduled appearance. Kirk, a major influence on the conservative movement, especially among young people, was 31 and left behind a wife and two young children. As of this writing, the shooter is still at large.

Montana lawmakers release statements on Charlie Kirk
Montana lawmakers did not remain quiet and released statements via social media regarding the killing of Mr. Kirk. Governor Greg Gianforte stated the following:
I’ve known Charlie since he was a teenager. He dedicated his life to supporting the next generation of leaders and getting young people involved in government. Political violence has no place in America.
U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy released the following:
There is no excuse for political violence in our country.
Steve Daines also released a statement:
Absolutely devastating news. Charlie Kirk was a friend, a loving husband, a father and fearless leader who inspired the next generation. Cindy and I grieve with his family in this profound loss.
President Trump also released a statement and has ordered that all American Flags be flown at half mast through Sunday.
Kirk was the co-founder of Turning Point USA and was known to tour college and university campuses across the United States. Kirk had a huge following on all social media platforms, where he would often post his "debates" with those who disagreed with him.

While they might not always see eye to eye, Kirk allowed those with different views to state and share their opinions while engaging in civil discourse. We pray for his family.
