What Are The Odds? Which Montana School Has The Best Chance?
With both Montana State and Montana in the playoffs, there is a lot of excitement happening around Big Sky Country right now. We all know that you're either a Cat or a Griz, and if both teams continue to win, they will have an epic showdown in Bozeman to determine who will go to the National Championship Game.

Now, depending on who you ask, some theories are going around. Montana State fans believe they have the better team, and some statistics support this claim. I mean, the Cats did go into Washington/Grizzly Stadium and defeat the Griz in front of a thunderous, sold-out crowd. And over the last few years, the Cats have been the better program.
However, let's not forget it was just a couple of years ago that the Griz were in the National Championship Game, so it isn't like the Griz don't have bragging rights as well.
My guess, if you were to ask Cat fans, they would tell you MSU is better. If you were to ask Griz fans, they would tell you that UM is the superior program, but what do the "experts" have to say? What is their take on each team's chance to bring home a National Championship back to Montana?
What are the odds that a Montana school will win a National Championship?
According to the "Opta Supercomputer Projection", out of the remaining 8 teams, 2 of those being from Montana, the team with the best shot of winning a National Championship is Montana State University.
In fact, if you look at the numbers, MSU has a 44.5 percent chance of winning a Natty. So, what about Montana? What are their chances? According to the supercomputer, Montana has a 6.9 percent chance.
Now, I realize that for many Griz fans, that's a hard pill to swallow, but predictions are just that, they're predictions. Oh, and for those of us who are Bobcat fans, now is not the time to get too cocky. We have lots of football left before we start booking trips to Nashville.

Either way, what a great time for football in Montana.
