Where Montanans Go for A Proper Irish Meal
It’s Saint Patrick’s Day and Montanans tend to go all in. Especially over in Butte, often called the most Irish city in the country. Give Americans a reason to celebrate with a cold beer and they will show up, whether they have ties to the holiday or not.

Here in Montana though, it hits a little different. There is real Irish history rooted in this state. Generations ago, Irish immigrants came here chasing opportunity, especially in mining towns, and they brought their traditions right along with them. Food is always at the center of any culture, so it makes sense that Irish-inspired spots have carved out a place here too.
We asked around to find out where people go when they are craving a traditional Irish meal, and the answers did not disappoint.

The Stone Accord in Missoula came up quickly, known for blending classic Irish dishes with a Montana twist. In Kalispell, Brannigan’s Pub earned plenty of mentions thanks to its strong reputation, hearty meals, and lively atmosphere that feels like a true neighborhood pub.

The Fainting Goat Pub in Livingston made the list as a personal favorite for many, especially if you are after a warm bowl of stew and a solid lineup of Irish whiskey. Over in Butte, Shawn O’Donnell’s is a go to, offering a wide variety of Irish spirits along with dishes that stay true to tradition while supporting local ingredients.
